The government of Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi has formally requested the United Nations Security Council to designate the Houthi militias as “terrorists,” Al Arabiya English reported.
A letter read out by Yemen’s envoy to the United Nations Khaled al-Yamani on Saturday highlighted the Iranian regime’s interferences by supplying weapons to Houthi militias.
Yamani submitted the complaint in a letter to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
Meanwhile, a report issued by UN experts on the situation in Yemen revealed that Houthi militias’ violations range from corruption to torture.
The report exposed the militias’ financial corruption and said that they violated international humanitarian law during the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
