During his visit to Islamabad this week, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson handed over to Pakistan a list of 75 wanted persons, Pakistan’s foreign minister said according to 1tvnews.af.
Khwaja Asif said that Haqqani network is on the top and some were shadow governors of Taliban.
He, however, claimed that many on the list are not alive.
According to Asif, who was summoned to parliament, no Pakistani national, including Hafiz Saeed, is in the list.
He said that Pakistan had also handed a list of 100 people by Islamabad to the U.S. and Afghanistan.
Tillerson was visiting Pakistan on Tuesday, in his first trip to the country following the announcement of a new U.S. strategy on Afghanistan that calls on Islamabad to tackle militant sanctuaries.
Asif said that Pakistan assured U.S. of taking action “if it provides credible information” against the Haqqani network.
He, however, said that Pakistan would not act as the proxy for any country.
“We are ready to help the US in Afghanistan but we would not become anyone’s proxy,” he said.
