The Turkish army has carried out military offensives on Kurdish security forces in Syrian Kurdistan, better known as Rojava in Kurdish.
The People’s Protection Units (YPG) claimed in a statement that the Turkish army attacked their positions several times over the last two days.
BasNews has learned that the offensives were focused on areas around Tal Abyad and Kobani.
Casualty figures yet to be revealed.
Turkish officials have recently expressed concerns over the expansion of YPG authority along Turkish borders.
The YPG is accused by Turkey of having links to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) which is involved a 30 year armed conflict with the Ankara government.
