Members of the “Islamic State” (IS, aka ISIS, ISIL or Daesh) terrorist group were planning to carry out a terrorist attack against Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in the country’s province of Konya, Turkish newspaper Milliyet reported Apr. 27 citing law enforcement authorities of Turkey.
Nine members of the IS were arrested as part of a special operation in the province of Konya, and there is one woman among them.
During the interrogation of the IS members it has been established that the attack was planned last week during Davutoglu’s visit to the province of Konya. But because of the enhanced security measures, the IS members were unable to penetrate the area where Davutoglu was speaking to residents of the province.
