An Iraqi MP from the province of Nineveh revealed that the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, Daesh, has executed 15 young people from the city of Mosul in Camp Ghazlani under the pretext of collaborating with the country’s security agencies and displaced 3,000 families from the province.
Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari MP said at a joint press conference held on Sunday with Ahmed Al-Jubouri MP that the group also arrested a large number of police and members of the security services who have been working in the service before the fall of Mosul, and displaced thousands of families from Haj Ali village in the Qayyarah area.
Al-Shammari called on the country’s leaders to “accelerate the liberation of the city of Nineveh and add large numbers of military forces to sustain the momentum in the fight against the organization”.
Daesh seized the province of Mosul and a number of other provinces in June 2014. Since then the Iraqi security forces have waged a military campaign near the outskirts of Mosul to take back some of the villages seized by the organisation.
