Iraqi military intelligence seized control of the ISIS communication and media office in the city of Mosul, according to a statement released by the Iraq’s War Media Cell.
The Iraqi Directorate of General Military Intelligence (DGMI) jointly with the 16th Brigade ‘s Intelligence Unit in Shallalat District of Mosul captured the office.
According to the statement, in the office, located near the Police Academy, the army seized several surveillance screens which were used to monitor the nearby villages and battlefields in the north of Mosul.
Other items such as 50 cell phones, three loudspeakers, and 20 Motorola and eight ITT wireless devices as well as two computer devices and lots of documents were found at the site, said the statement.
Iraqi army, counter-terrorism and federal police forces are now in fierce clashes with the ISIS militants inside Mosul, mainly on the eastern bank of Tigris river which crosses through the major city.
According to the latest updates, over 32 neighborhoods have so far been cleared from ISIS, with the Iraqi troops pushing deeper into the center of the city.
