A source from Tuz Khurmatu confirmed the detonation of three houses, belonging to Kurds in Tuz Khurmatu, by the Iranian-backed Shi’ite militias of Hashd al-Shaabi last night, like reported by basnews.com.
Mohammed Fayaq, head of Tuz Khurmatu Media Department, told BasNews “Last night, three houses of Kurdish citizens in different neighborhoods were detonated by Hashd al-Shaabi and Hashd al-Turkmani.”
He noted that one of the houses belonged to a Kurdish Peshmerga fighter, named Mustafa Khalid Faraj, adding that the militias had already looted and burned his house, but last night they detonated it.
Another house belonged to Adnan Desko, a Kurdish civilian, in Komari neighborhood and the other one is located in Hussein neighborhood, but it is yet to be known to whom it belonged, said the official.
The Iraqi army, with support from the Iranian-backed Hashd al-Shaabi militias, launched on October 16, a large-scale offensive to take over the disputed territories, including Kirkuk, Tuz Khurmatu and Khanaqin. The operation led to a humanitarian crisis as thousands of people were forced to flee their homes in those areas.
