More than 25,000 Daesh fighters were killed during the battle to regain control of Mosul, Iraqi Lieutenant General Abdul Ameer Yarallah said, like reported by middleeastmonitor.com.
The head of the military campaign to restore the governorate of Nineveh said:
The forces involved in the liberation of the city have killed more than 25,000 terrorists from Daesh, including more than 450 suicide bombers, in nine months.
“Iraqi forces destroyed 1,247 car bombs, shot down 130 Daesh aircrafts, and more than 1,500 different militants’ vehicles.”
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi declared victory in Mosul on 9 July bringing an end to jihadist rule in the city.
