Russian tanks armored against anti-tank missiles and ground forces began to enter northern Syria via a military airfield in Aleppo, Lebanese newspaper “As-Safir” affiliated with Hezbollah reported .
The newspaper estimated that the airport will be the third in which Russian Air Force aircraft will be deployed.
Iran joins club of enriched uranium suppliers by selling 9 tons of enriched uranium to Russia, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi said.
According to the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA), Iran will sell 9 tons of its 4 percent enriched uranium to Russia, he added.
Speaking to reporters early Tuesday, Salehi said in the meantime that Iran will import 140 tons of natural uranium from Russia.
Russia had good cooperation with Iran during nuclear negotiations, he noted.
Salehi said that Russian officials have also accepted to help Iran to upgrade its centrifuges for production of stable isotopes.
Iran has also a plan to construct Bushehr nuclear fuel complex to provide the power plant’s required fuel under the license of Russia, he added.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday signed a document to remove limits and restrictions on broadening nuclear cooperation with Iran.
According to the news released in Moscow on Monday, some parts of the new plan call for implementing the technical clauses of JCPOA based on international rules and regulations.
Parts of the text which was released in Moscow announced removal of restrictions on sale of equipment, technology and commodities related to import of enriched uranium from Iran and joint investment in nuclear related fields.
According to Puttin’s decree, Russia is to export low-grade enriched uranium to Iran based on the JCPOA.
The document also provides suitable grounds for Iranian and Russian investors to broaden cooperation in nuclear field.

An undentified fighter jet has crashed in Syria near the Turkish border, CNN Türk has reported.
The report said the fighter jet had crashed into tents in Latakia’s Yamadi village near the Syrian border where Turkmens are currently staying, according to Turkmen sources. Pilots were seen landing with the aid of parachutes, the witnesses said.
CNN Türk reported that Turkish jets downed the fighter jet due to border breach.

Reuters reports that this weekend’s US-led airstrikes on Daesh took out a major oil facility and 283 vehicles.
The US-led coalition airstrikes have been targeting Daesh oil supplies since mid-November. On November 16, over 100 oil trucks were reportedly destroyed in Deir al-Zour, a Daesh stronghold near the Syrian-Iraqi border.
Eleven separate airstrikes in eastern Syrian on Saturday destroyed 283 Daesh oil transport vehicles and a major crude-oil collection point, according to Reuters.
On Sunday, airstrikes in both Syria and Iraq targeted known Daesh tactical units, buildings, and strategic gathering points. The number of casualties is unknown.
Daesh is suspected to earn upwards of $40 million a month from illegally exporting crude oil.

Forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad took the towns of Maheen and Hawareen, some 20 kilometres east of the main road connecting the capital Damascus to the north of Syria and the government’s coastal strongholds, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
The gains bring government forces close to al-Qaryatain in the country’s central desert, the last town on the route to the ancient city of Palmyra which fell to the jihadists in May.
The Observatory said government forces were also advancing on the outskirts of Palmyra, which lies at the heart of the desert separating heavily populated central Syria from Islamic State-controlled eastern areas near the Iraqi border.
State television said the Syrian army command was determined to drive away “the terrorists from the ancient city very soon.”
Since capturing the UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site, Islamic State has destroyed its most famous monuments including ancient temples, funeral towers and a triumphal arch.
The city’s Roman-era theatre and columns lining its main street have been turned into backdrops for the executions of Islamic State prisoners.
The latest advances come nearly two months into a Russian air campaign in support of al-Assad.
They are the second significant gain by Russian-backed Syrian forces at the expense of Islamic State.
Earlier this month troops pushed through jihadist-held territory near Aleppo in northern Syria to relieve an isolated airbase that had been under siege for two years.
Moscow says its air strikes target Islamic State and other “terrorists,” but anti-Assad rebels and their backers say moderates and Islamist opposition fighters not associated with Islamic State have borne the brunt of the attacks.
Government offensives against these Western- and Gulf-backed rebels and their al-Qaeda-linked allies since Russian airstrikes started in central Syria at the end of September have made only limited gains.
Meanwhile, the opposition Syrian National Coalition said Monday that it would attend a meeting due to be held next month in the Saudi capital Riyadh aimed at unifying opposition groups.
“We hope we will come out of the Riyadh conference with results that will expedite the political solution in Syria,” Khaled Khoja, head of the Turkish-backed alliance of political opposition groups, said in Istanbul.
Saudi Arabia last week said it would host a meeting for Syrian opposition forces to unify their ranks in the run-up to planned peace talks with al-Assad’s regime.
Syria’s opposition is plagued by internal divisions. The numerous rebel groups who control territory – most of whom are hardline Islamists – recognize no overarching authority.
Two of the most powerful rebel forces, the hardline Islamist Ahrar al-Sham and Army of Islam, are expected to attend the talks, along with smaller and more moderate groups fighting under the banner of the Free Syrian Army.
Khoja repeated the opposition’s refrain that there could no political solution in Syria as long as “Russian occupation” and al-Assad’s presidency continued.
Russia and Iran have rejected repeated calls by the West and Saudi Arabia for al-Assad to step down to end Syria’s conflict.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for an attack that killed at least a dozen troops in eastern Yemen.
The BBC reported at least 12 pro-government soldiers and 15 militants were killed during a suicide bombing and firefight near the town of Shibam, in Yemen’s Hadramawt province.
The Yemen Times, quoting local sources, reported a much higher death toll, saying more than 45 soldiers were killed.
Yemen’s IS affiliate claimed to have killed more than 50 troops in the attack — which Yemeni officials said was conducted by al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, a rival of IS.
Large portions of Hadramawt province are under AQAP control, according to the BBC.
Since late 2014, a Yemeni IS branch emerged along with several other cells in Pakistan, Libya, Egypt and other countries as militant groups raced to declare allegiance to IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Since then, IS has claimed a series of attacks in Yemen and other locations.
The assault near Shibam came three days after Yemeni President Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi returned to the southern port city of Aden for the second time after taking refuge in Saudi Arabia earlier this year.
Amid rapid advances by Shia-affiliated Houthi rebels, Hadi fled the country in March as a Saudi-led coalition of regional Sunni powers began conducting air and ground operations against the Houthis.
The United Nations estimates at least 5,700 people have been killed in Yemen since then.
Russian ground forces have engaged rebel fighters north of Latakia, according to a Kuwaiti daily with close access to Moscow’s military intervention in Syria.
“For the first time Russian infantry forces, supported by tanks and planes, have taken part in an assault on Syrian takfiri opposition forces between Latakia countryside and Idlib countryside,” Al-Rai reported on Monday morning.
“A strategic elevation was taken without any injuries in the ranks of the attacking forces,” a “Syrian leadership source” told the newspaper’s chief international correspondent, Elijah J. Magnier.
“The live military maneuver carried out by the Russian army, which is present on Syrian territory, required the involvement of an infantry battalion.”
The source said that this battalion’s involvement was preceded by “shelling with advanced 130 millimeter artillery and [strikes by] Sukhoi SU-25M planes on the target position, after which the Russian infantry [units] advanced and carried out a precise operation to seize the sensitive elevation.”
“The battle lasted for several hours, during which the strategic peak was cleansed and a number of deaths were inflicted upon the militants of various nationalities,” the report claimed, without elaborating further on where exactly the alleged clashes took place.
No rebel group has yet to issue any statements that it engaged Russian forces in the ongoing battles in the mountains north of Latakia.
According to the source, the Russian operation was carried out “without losses to the attacking forces.”
The report added that the Russian army was using Syria as a “training ground” to test its combat forces and military equipment “which have not [been used] in a real battle for many years.”
“This shows that the Russian army is [bringing] its forces to a level of high competence through clashes with the enemy as a first step to involving combat units in the near future.”
According to the source, Russia had asked permission “to test the readiness of its Infantry forces present in Syria.”
Al-Rai’s Magnier has written a number of articles in recent weeks on Russia’s bombardment campaign in Syria, claiming access to sources in both the Baghdad and Damascus operation rooms for the “4+1” military coalition of Russia, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Hezbollah.
Moscow has insisted that it will not conduct ground operations in Syria, however recent reports indicate the Russia has been deploying troops to prepare for combat operations.
On November 8, a group of Russian investigative journalists released a report showing pictures posted to social media by current and former Russian military personnel in the Hama and Aleppo provinces.
“Although we still don’t have indisputable evidence of Russian servicemen taking a direct part in the fighting on the ground in Syria, we believe the situation observed contradicts the claims of Russian officials that Russian troops are not taking part and are not planning to take part in ground operations,” the Conflict Intelligence Team said in its report.
Two weeks later, footage on Russian state television of a defense ministry briefing showed a map that listed a Russian army artillery unit as being deployed outside the Homs province town of Mahin, which was seized by ISIS in early November.

Russia will supply Iraq with around 400 mine clearing vehicles for removing mine barriers planted by the Islamic State militants in the country, the Iranian news agency Fars reports.
The Iraqi Prime-Minister Haider al-Abadi signed an extra agreement with Russia to supply the mine clearing vehicles to the national armed forces, an Iraqi official said.
“On arrival in the country the mine clearing vehicles will be used in operations against the IS militants in the Northern and Western parts of Iraq,” the official said, adding that the cost of vehicles will be paid by the Iraqi government later. Fars has illustrated its report with a photograph of Russia’s latest BMR-3M Vepr mine clearing vehicle, which however is not an indisputable proof that expressly these machines will be procured.
The BMR-3M Vepr mine clearing vehicle has been developed by the Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation using the T-90 main battle tank /MBT/. It is powered by the V-84MS 840hp engine that used to be mounted on the previous models of the T-72 MBT. Used as the main engineering tool is the KMT-7 wheeled mine plow. Also, it is possible to fit a more advanced tool like KMT-8 or KMT-9.
The vehicle is outfitted with a radio suppression system for neutralizing remotely controlled explosive devices and with a jib crane. The vehicle maximum speed is 60 km/h, the mine sweeping speed reaches 12 km/h. The armament suite includes a remotely controlled antiaircraft automatic weapon system and 12.7 mm NSVT machinegun. Also, it is outfitted with 902V Tucha smoke dischargers. The BMR-3M mine clearing vehicle is fitted with the Contact-1 explosive reactive armor.
The BMR-3M vehicle will find an optimum application for demining operations in Iraq. At the moment the IS militants do not plant the mine field type of explosive barriers. The preferred technique now is “a mine cluster” in which self-made explosive devices and antitank/antipersonnel mines prevail. The mine barriers are usually located near the roads. In this case the least costly and most effective means of overcoming the barrier is the use of the mine clearing vehicle fitted with contact demining sweepers and protected at the MBT level.

“The massive Velayat (94) drills will be staged in Northern Indian Ocean to the 10 degrees latitude,” Sayyari told reporters in Tehran on Monday.
He explained that the advanced equipment possessed by Iran makes it possible for the country to be in control in the Northern Indian Ocean to the 10 degrees latitude.
Also, on Sunday, Sayyari announced that his forces would hold several specialized wargames in the next 30 days.
“Several specialized drills, including missile, air and sea, submarine and special operations exercises, will be staged in the month of Azar (November 22-December 21); the massive Velayat wargames will also be held in winter,” Sayyari told reporters in Tehran on the threshold of the Navy Day in Iran (November 28).
He also referred to Iran’s presence in the international waters, and said despite certain countries’ efforts to prevent such deployment, the Navy will continue its presence in free waters, specially the Gulf of Aden.
In relevant remarks earlier this month, Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi also announced that his forces will hold massive wargames in the next two months.
“The IRGC Navy will hold massive drills before the end of autumn (will end December 21),” Rear Admiral Fadavi told reporters.
The Iranian Armed Forces have recently test-fired different types of newly-developed missiles and torpedoes and tested a large number of home-made weapons, tools and equipment, including submarines, military ships, artillery, choppers, aircrafts, UAVs and air defense and electronic systems, during massive military drills.
Defense analysts and military observers say that Iran’s wargames and its advancements in weapons production have proved as a deterrent factor.
Velayat wargames are the annual exercises conducted by the Iranian Army’s naval forces each year. Last year, the drills were conducted late December and were codenamed Velayat 93.
Different units, including surface, subsurface, air and airborne units, participated in the drills.

Iran has dismissed having “an agreement” with Russia and the US regarding a ceasefire in Syria.
US Secretary of State John Kerry has recently said that the ceasefire in Syria is close, also mentioning Iran and Russia.
“Iran, Russia ready for a ceasefire, the United States ready for ceasefire,” Kerry said.
Head of Iranian Parliament’s Defense Commission Esmail Kosari has denied having any such agreements between Iran, Russia and the US to Trend. He said statements similar to that of John Kerry are made when the terrorists are facing defeat.
Iranian official also blamed the US, European countries, Israel and Saudi Arabia for helping the IS.
Kerry had said that the US was looking forward to a ceasefire by Iran and Russia so that Washington could pursue its objectives in Syria.
“The faster Russia and Iran give life to this process, the faster the violence can taper down and we can isolate Daesh (IS) and al Nusra (terrorist organization) and begin to do what our strategy has always set out to do,” Kerry had said.
While the US has been leading a campaign in Syria which allegedly targets the terrorists since about a year ago, Russia started pounding terrorist positions in the Arab country late September.
Iran, however, says it supports general elections in Syria and for the time being only provides President Bashar Assad’s army with military consultation to ward off terrorists.
