Intelligence reports in Farah province show that Iran created military camps in bordering areas with Afghanistan and train Taliban militants, like reported by ariananews.af
“We have reports that Iran has taken a number of weapons from Russia and has given to Taliban. But we cannot confirm it a hundred percent. And the discovery reports suggest that the Taliban fighters are training in Iran,” said Gulbahar Mujahed, security commander in Farah.
Local officials in Farah say Iran created military camps for Taliban in areas such as Zabul and Khorasan and strengthening insurgents groups in 293 kilometers Afghanistan-Iran open border.
“We have discovery reports that military camps are created for Taliban in Iran and Russia is equipping Taliban with modern arms in cooperation with Iran,” said Muhammad Younis Rasoli, deputy governor of Farah province.
The TAPI gas pipeline is scheduled to pass through Balabolok districts from Turkmenistan to Pakistan and build the largest dam; two big economic programs that Iran is seeking to prevent, according to local officials in Farah.
Ariananews tried to have the comments of Iran embassy in Kabul about the allegations but they refused to comment regarding the issue.
Previously, the Iranian embassy to Kabul has confirmed Iran’s relation with Taliban.
