At least 18 Daesh militants including two commanders were killed in the latest operations conducted in eastern Nangarhar province.
Ministry of Defense (MoD) in a statement yesterday identified two commanders of the group as Khetab and Kamran and said that 22 militants of the terror group were also wounded during the operations.
The statement reported the operations were conducted in Koot district involving all security entities.
The operations came after the loyalists of the terror group launched a major attack on police check posts in Koot district on Friday.
At least eight civilians were killed and seven others were wounded during the attack by IS loyalists.
In a bid to curb the activities of the anti-state groups, the Afghan forces as well as the U.S. forces are regularly targeting the loyalists of the terrorist group in this province.
