The program “ambassadors against terrorism,” organized by the local youth and sports commissioner as part of the national program to consolidate the patriotic fervor was kicked off Sunday in Sidi Bouzid.
The program aims to mobilize national forces and youth to express rejection of terrorism in all its forms and consolidate the concept of civil defence, highlight the culture of life as opposed to that of death, and raise youth’s awareness about the importance of solidarity and cohesion among all the components of the civil society, said project co-ordinator Hanane Ajmi.
The agenda of this event which brings together representatives of youth centres and clubs in the governorate of Sidi Bouzid, the local youth and sports’ commission and local administrations, are communications on the “foundations of leadership of the nation’s ambassador” and “making yourself and others happy.”
Tunisia has faced turmoil recently with high unemployment rates for youth. Protests starting in Kasserine and rippling across the country drew national attention, and MPs met with protesters to work toward a solution together.
The “ambassadors against terrorism” is one of many programs aimed at engaged and supporting the large young adult population in Tunisia.
