A Russian submarine on Tuesday fired cruise missiles at Islamic State targets in Syria’s Deir al-Zor province, the RIA news agency cited Russia’s defence ministry as saying.
The submarine, “Veliky Novgorod”, launched three “Kalibr” missiles from the eastern Mediterranean, the agency reported.
