Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed his country’s readiness to help combat terrorism and settle regional conflicts in a message to participants in a meeting of the Russia – Islamic World strategic vision group secretariat.
“I would like to confirm our readiness to coordinate efforts aimed at countering terrorism and looking for peaceful solutions to regional conflicts,” the Russian leader said.
Among challenges facing the Islamic world today, Putin mentioned an escalation of extremism and terrorism, bloody internecine conflicts, sanctions and propaganda pressure, armed interventions and blackmail.
“All this cannot help but cause our very serious concern,” Putin said.
“We are convinced that the Islamic world will be able to withstand all troubles,” he added.
