President of Russia Vladimir Putin has called the CIS intelligence services to strengthen ties on the background of terrorism threat, reports TASS news agency.
“The main threat for the citizens of CIS states comes from the international terror organizations acting in Central Asia, Near East and Northern Africa. Terrorists are trying to use these regions as a ground for expansion, recruitment and train here new fighters, send them for destabilization to other states,” reads the message of V. Putin to the participants of the council of heads of security and intelligence services of CIS member states.
According to the statement, “the situation in the world requires new effective ways of response to the global challenges and threats”.
“It is important for the national intelligence services to strengthen partner ties, develop coordinated approach to resolution of hot tasks, to share professional experience, analytical data and set ties with the structures of the civil society,” reads the statement.
