At least four people were killed and 13 others injured on Friday as two bombs exploded near Rawalpindi-bound Jaffer Express in Machh area of Bolan district.
It still remains unclear whether the bomb was planted on the track or inside the train. “The train was travelling to Rawalpindi from Quetta,” Railway officials said.
Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri while taking notice of the incident ordered an inquiry. The chief minister, in a statement, condemned the attack and ordered immediate treatment for the injured.
On Tuesday, at least four women belonging to a Shia Hazara community were killed by unknown assailants in an allegedly sectarian-motivated targeted killing in Quetta’s Kirani Road. One woman also sustained serious bullet injuries when gunmen fired gunshots on a local passenger bus.
“The women were returning from the city towards their destiny Hazara Town when armed men intercepted the bus and one of them barged inside and started shooting indiscriminately.” Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Abdul Razaq Cheema said.
