The International coalition jets shelled Islamic State (IS) positions in the east of Mosul on 21st April, targeting an ammunition warehouse.
Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official from Mosul Saed Mamuzini told BasNews, “International coalition jets targeted IS bases in the industrial zone of eastern Mosul on 21st April.
“An explosive expert and the man in charge of the warehouse Abu-Ahmed Asari and 12 other insurgents were killed during the attack.”
IS militants seized a huge amount of Iraqi army weaponry and ammunition when they seized Mosul in June 2014.
The air strike comes as part of the international campaign to degrade and defeat IS in Iraq and Syria, started in August 2014, when IS insurgents threatened the security of Kurdistan Region and Kurdish region of Syria.
