The Polish government hopes to expand its 200-troop military presence in Afghanistan to show solidarity with the US as it increases its own contingent, a topic which defense minister Antoni Macierewicz is about to take up with US Secretary of Defence James Mattis, like reported by warsawvoice.pl.
In return, Macierewicz might seek some backup from the Pentagon in Poland’s negotiations with the Patriot missile defense system manufacturer Raytheon over a speedy delivery of the technology to Poland.
