On the day the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) of separatists called for a strike on polling days, security forces achieved a major breakthrough with the arrest of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist, who had posted a video on social media threatening the candidates with consequences unless they withdraw from the election, like reported by dnaindia.com.
Amir Sultan War, of Naidkhai in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, had posted a video on Facebook, telling candidates to withdraw their nomination or face strict action.
Armed to the teeth, Amir alias Abu Jibran’s video had gone viral and was widely circulated on social media and WhatsApp groups in the valley.
However, luck ran out for him as he was arrested by security forces during a naka checking at Baramulla-Handwara road near Hadipora crossing in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Sources said War is being questioned and a massive hunt has been launched to nab his associates in a bid to create a secure environment and instil confidence among the people in the run-up to the polls.
