The Carabinieri of R.O.S. of Palermo have carried out in the provinces of Palermo, Trapani, Caltanissetta and Brescia 15 arrests arranged by the DDA of the Sicilian capital against people accused of instigation to commit crimes in matters of Islamic terrorism, criminal association aimed at the facilitation of illegal immigration and smuggling of foreign tobacco products, illegal entry of migrants into the national territory and illegal exercise of financial intermediation activities.
The criminal organization managed trips on board fast boats of small groups of migrants between Tunisia and Italy. One of the arrested, a Tunisian terrorist, invoked death in the name of Allah and the Islamic State. On his Facebook profile were found videos and photos that praised the Isis and with images of beheadings.
In Brescia, a 27-year-old Tunisian was arrested: now in prison in Canton Mombello, he was recently resident in Ome (Brescia) after years spent in Palermo. The investigators accused him an episode of aiding illegal immigration, having helped a girl to move to England by purchasing plane tickets for her.
