The Islamic State (IS) militants have executed several Kurdish Peshmerga prisoners in Nineveh province.
Footage, posted on social media on Wednesday September 30th, shows at least 7 Kurdish Peshmerga captives being beheaded by IS jihadists in Mosul.
A Kurdish insurgent appears in the footage, threatening that IS will soon take control of Erbil.
Analysts believe that the execution likely took place weeks ago, as the video has been produced to a high standard.
It appears that IS published the footage in response to losing a significant amount of territory and fighters in western and southern Kirkuk yesterday.
The Peshmerga have managed to retake large areas from IS since the jihadists launched surprise advances into northern Iraq last year.
