The Iraqi security forces on Tuesday were able to kill 14 militants of the Islamic State (IS) insurgent group in Mosul city, the Security Media Cell said in a statement, according to basnews.com.
The 14 extremists, according to the statement, were killed during a military campaign carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Service’s forces in Mosul.
The cell explained that among the killed IS members were senior leaders and suicide bombers, adding that the operation was conducted based on intelligence information.
The military operation targeted an IS hotbed located in the district of al-Hadar, southwest of Mosul.
