Italian police have arrested four members of a terrorist cell that spread propaganda on social media, police tweeted Thursday like reported by eblnews.com.
The arrested members – three Tunisian and one Moroccan national – operated in the Italian cities of Milan and Perugia, and in Germany, police said.
Police also searched the premises of two more suspects – an Algerian and a Tunisian – and are seeking another Tunisian man who has a legal residency permit, lives in Perugia, and works occasionally as a pizza maker.
The other suspects are in Italy illegally, have no fixed abode and work as drug dealers, police said.
All are accused of incitement to commit criminal acts aggravated by the use of the internet for purposes of terrorism, according to a police statement.
The suspects expressed Islamic extremist sympathies online, including on Facebook, in “hundreds of posts” with photos and videos extolling armed actions by the Islamic State group and other jihadist terrorist attacks.
