At least four key Taliban commanders were killed in an operation by Afghan commandos in western Herat province on Tuesday, local officials confirmed according to tolonews.com.
The operation was launched in Gozara district of the province and the forces also “seized weapons during the operation,” a spokesman for 207th Zafar Military Corps Abdul Qayoum Nuristani said.
However, he did not provide further details.
The Taliban have not yet commented over the operation.
