A joint Nigerian-Russian commission is expected to meet by the end of 2015, Nigerian Charge d’Affaires in Russia Gafai Ibrahim Usman told Sputnik.
“We are hoping that before the end of 2015 a joint commission session will take place in Nigeria. We are already in discussion with the Russian authorities,” Usman said, adding that an exact date and agenda are being negotiated.
The diplomat expressed hope that the meeting will be organized at the level of deputy foreign ministers.
According to Usman, the two countries are expected to discuss security, energy, immigration, military cooperation and trade agreements, among other issues.
