Hundred Macedonian citizens are fighting in Iraq and Syria on the side of the extremists, Nova Makedonija daily announced, relying on data from the Macedonian security forces.
15 of them were killed so far. There are about 30 Serbian people who fight currently in Iraq and Syria.
The newspaper stated that yesterday in Belgrade was held a forum of the interior ministers entitled “Preventing radicalization and counter-terrorism in the Balkan region.”
Participants at the meeting argued that terrorism is a global threat, and regional cooperation is needed to prevent the recruitment of jihadists.
