The armed Taliban group stormed on several military bases of Afghan forces in Waghez district of eastern Ghazni province late on Sunday night, the local officials said according to ariananews.af.
Ghazni police commander stated that the armed Taliban group begun attacks on late last night and killed four Afghan soldiers and injured a dozen others.
According to him, the Taliban group has also suffered heavy casualties in the incident.
The Taliban took control of Waghaz on May 22, the same day it assaulted areas in the capital of Ghazni City. They also bombed the governor’s compound during the fighting.
The armed Taliban group is active in many parts of Ghazni, an important gateway to the capital, Kabul, from the south-east.
