The Ministry of Defense (MoD) on Friday claimed 28 Taliban militants were killed and 13 others wounded during joint operations in different parts of the country over the last 24 hours, like reported by pajhwok.com.
A statement from MoD received by Pajhwok Afghan News said the operations were launched in Nangarhar, Lghman, Ghazni, Paktika, Logar, Kandahar, Farah, Takhar, Faryab, Nimroz and Helmand provinces.
The source said that 10 Taliban fighters were killed and two other wounded as well as three vehicles and some weapons and ammunition belonged to the rebel group destroyed in Pushtrod district of Farah province.
Four militants were killed and eight others wounded in Waghaz district of Ghazni province, the statement said, adding two bikes belonged to militants also destroyed in the offensive.
Elsewhere, two militants were killed and two tohers wounded in Hesarak district of Nangarhar province, the MoD said. Three militants were killed and a fourth one was wounded in Helmand province.
The ministry said that 10 clearing operations and 24 commando operations were launched in 10 provinces of the country in the last 24 hours.
