Twelve Daesh (Islamic State) terrorists were killed and 21 others injured after a bomb they were placing went off in the eastern Nangarhar province, military official said Monday.
“The Daesh terrorists were placing the bomb in a busy marketplace in the Achin district,” the Selab 201 military corps said in a statement.
“The bomb exploded while they were still busy in placing,” the statement added.
No civilian casualties were reported, according to the statement.
Earlier this week, 24 Daesh militants had been killed in an operation launched by the Selab military corps in the district.
The Daesh terrorists have made strongholds in Nangarhar province, particularly the Achin district which borders Pakistani tribal areas.
