A 21-year-old Afghan man, who was a member of the Taliban movement, has been arrested in Germany, according to pajhwok.com.
The detainee identified as Jabar N. has been accused of having joined the terrorist group in 2011, DPA reported, citing a statement from federal prosecutors.
According to the news agency, the man participated in at least 30 clashes with Afghan security forces and fought against Islamic State (IS) militants.
Jabar reportedly arrived in Germany from Afghanistan through Iran, Turkey and Greece. Later, he fled to France, where he was arrested and extradited back to Germany.
With his case processed, the suspect would remain in custody, the prosecutors said. He arrived in Germany in 2015 as an asylum seeker.
