Iraqi Army, Shiite militia and Tikriti youth volunteers will participate in the operation against Islamic State
The security committee of Salahaddin Province has revealed that the timetable for freeing the city of Tikrit and surrounding areas will be determined by the Iraqi military leadership.
Deputy chief of the committee, Khalid Khazraji, said that the strategic plan is already in place.
“The Iraqi army is making preparations to free Tikrit and areas in the centre of Salahaddin Province,” said Khazraji.
The timetable for the operation will be determined by the military leadership of Iraq.
According to Khazraji, the Hashdi al-Sha’bi Shiite militia, Tikriti volunteer youths and the Iraqi army will take part in the operation.
